Testing, Testing, Testing

Both World Wars drove the development of psychological testing and it has not stopped since.

The tests can be split into three broad categories: Aptitude, Skills and Personality.

The tests are used in recruitment, team member allocation and for specific skill training, among others.

The tests are a snapshot of a person at that time. People change, people can modify their behaviour, their view of the world and their practical skills.

Remember the Test is just a snapshot.

Otherwise, the value of the Coaching-style Manager, the Training programme or the external Coach is zero.

My 45 years’ experience tells me those coaching and training activities can be hugely valuable.

Let’s not forget that the miracle of the general-purpose Personal Computer is that its work is customisable by its software.

While a Human is a general-purpose organism whose capability is customisable by training and coaching, it is also self-learning, self-charging and has fuzzy-logic decision making capability.

Maybe it’s time to think of your people in a different way? Or are you too busy?
