There are times when autocratic leadership can be the right thing.
How about “Run! Everybody out! The buildings on fire!” Is this good leadership?
Or would it be better to have a well-rehearsed team of people organised to manage the fast and safe evacuation of the building? The Boss shouting run is unlikely to make that evacuation any smoother.
So that’s not a good example of necessary autocratic leadership. I’m sure you have an example.
All I’d say is that if you find yourself having to issue life (or business) saving instructions very often, there is something wrong.
Tell me, when is autocratic leadership the right thing to do?
